The salt that is produced at Luisenhall, near Göttingen, comes from the sea. More precisely from an ocean that once existed here and that dried up 250 million years ago. Since man did not exist then, he also had no opportunity to pollute this sea. That makes us very happy and this salt is so pure, original and valuable. And that's exactly how it is left: unadulterated and free of any chemical additives.

Luisenhaller salt / deep salt from the only pan saline in Europe:

Luisenhall: A relic from another time. Luisenhall is the last pan saline in Europe still in operation. Over the course of a year, just as much salt is produced there as the big players in this branch manage before breakfast. But the salt is not really comparable either. It is pumped into the Göttingen daylight as concentrated brine from a depth of 450 meters. Once at the top, this brine is heated in huge flat pans until the salt crystallizes and can be skimmed off. This process is around a thousand years old.
