ILP KKS limescale protection filter cartridge

The limescale protection filter cartridges contain a granulate with catalytic effect to modify the limescale components dissolved in the water so that the limescale does not deposit on container walls, heating elements, etc. The mechanism of action of the limescale catalyst granulate lies in the formation of seed crystals from a part of the limescale-forming components of the water. The seed crystals are torn off from the granulate surface by the water flow once they reach a certain size (approx. 10 µm) and are carried freely suspended in the water. Under conditions favorable to limescale formation, these seed crystals serve as the starting point for limescale crystal formation. The majority of the limescale crystals are flushed out with the wastewater. On work surfaces, fittings, tiles, shower enclosures, sinks, as well as on the edges of shower heads and flow regulators, limescale particles remain as loose deposits after evaporation. It is recommended to remove these with a microfiber cloth or household sponge. They can be easily wiped away within one to two days. Aggressive cleaning agents are not necessary for this.
