Drinking water in the motorhome: No problem thanks to bluaqua
A motorhome stands for freedom. The freedom to travel anywhere you like. Therefore, it is no wonder that this type of vacation is very popular. With family and friends in tow, you travel to distant countries, experiencing culture and land up close. But especially when traveling with a motorhome, you can never fully rely on the quality of the drinking water. Because in many countries, people are not very careful with the water at rest stops. Water containers stand for weeks in the blazing sun. Sand, lime, dirt, or algae get into the water, and even heavy metals, bacteria, and viruses are repeatedly detected there, especially in the frequently used rubber hoses at rest stops, which can become real breeding grounds for bacteria. In some countries, especially in Southern Europe, chlorine is also often added, leaving an unpleasant taste in the water.
A good solution to always have clean drinking water available in the motorhome even in remote areas is a filter. This can be easily connected in between. The water runs from the tank through the filter into your motorhome's water tank. On this way, it is freed from impurities – completely without chemical cleaning additives. This way, the drinking water of your motorhome always remains clean and you can use it for drinking, washing, or hygiene.
Clean drinking water for the motorhome
In our shop, we offer various drinking water filters for motorhomes. These include filters made of activated carbon and those with a special membrane. Depending on what the cartridge is to be used for, different filters are suitable. Membrane filters are durable and can filter a variety of impurities from the water. Besides the type of filter, you should also consider how much drinking water you want to filter. Especially for motorhomes, the filter should be larger to allow enough water to pass through. A small filter would mean you have to replace the cartridge very often to ensure good water quality. We recommend paying attention to the filter performance of the cartridge. The finer the pores of the filter, the more effective the filtration, but the lower the flow rate. Water pressure can also vary depending on the model, usually between 2 and 3 bar.
If you want to keep the drinking water in your motorhome germ-free, you should clean the water tanks regularly. This ensures that no bacteria can accumulate there. Especially when the tank is exposed to strong sunlight and the water warms up, germs and bacteria can spread more easily. We recommend cleaning and disinfecting the hoses. You should completely empty the tank for drinking water treatment and clean all the pipes. If you mainly use the motorhome in summer, cleaning in autumn at the end of the season and before the start in spring is advisable.
