Limescale filter on the tap against limescale in the water, remove the limescale, no more limescale in the water or limescale water,

that's what many wish for. But is that really good?

Removing limescale from drinking water is not without its problems. On the one hand it is technically not that easy and on the other hand the water chemistry is changing a lot. The pH value in particular drops quickly into the acidic range. The water then loses its pH-neutral character. Limescale in water is not a problem for humans. We certainly don't "calcify" because we drink lime water.

Nevertheless, our technical devices in the household suffer from very hard water. You can do something about this without changing the chemical composition of the water, but if there is a lot of lime in the water, i.e. extreme lime water, ion exchangers are a good alternative. Our lime filter for the tap, the SANUNO Lime Compact, combines the advantages of the activated carbon filter with an ion exchanger. The unique carbonit lime compact filter cartridge also enables the partial removal of lime. This keeps the pH in the neutral range. A beneficial side effect - the included activated carbon block filter also removes pollutants and substances that would affect the taste of the water.

AquaKalko, on the other hand, uses ceramic granules with a specially coded surface to start the process of heterogeneous catalysis. A similar process can be observed in nature with mussels and corals. The lime water flows around the AquaKalko granules. Tiny seed crystals immediately form on the surface of the granules. These small crystals also immediately detach to make room for more crystals. The seed crystals floating in the water are carried along by the water into all pipes and connected devices. They practically trap the limescale in the water and thus no longer adhere anywhere in the treated water. The chemical composition of the water is not changed. Old installations and boilers can be renovated in just a few months. since existing calcifications and encrustations are slowly removed and carried away in a gentle process. Chemical-free limescale protection is a recognized biotechnology. Since 2009, the EU standard EN 1988-20 item 12.7 (Technical rules for drinking water installations) has stipulated that limescale protection devices with seed crystallization are approved for drinking water installations and correspond to the state of the art. Methods that work on the basis of seed crystallization meet the requirements of the "General Rules of Technology". that limescale protection devices with seed crystallization are approved for drinking water installations and correspond to the state of the art.
